GALIA - Groupement pour l'Amélioration des Liaisons dans l'Industrie Automobile

GALIA is an industry consortium that defines standards for e-business communications, engineering data exchange, and logistics management created by and for the automotive industry. It has been created in 1984.

GALIA's missions are:

  • Elaborate recommendations for the exchanges of products and information between partners of the automotive arena.
  • Make these recommendations available to its members
  • Promote, by Information Technology providers, the development of tools conformant to the specifications within the recommendations. Inform and make the managers of the companies of the automotive industry be aware that these tools exist and that they may be of interest.
  • Promote the implementation of the solutions built upon the recommendations, inform and train the potential users of such tools.
  • Represent and defend the interests of its members within the French, European and global organizations such as SASIG working on the same topics.
GALIA's mission takes place in a context of international implantations development, of global competitiveness and profitability of French automotive manufacturers and suppliers.
These aims require the improvement of the commercial offer, the increase of products quality and the reduction of costs and development/production time cycles.

Almost 400 members (PSA PEUGEOT-CITROEN, RENAULT, their suppliers as well as IT and services providers) have applied to GALIA and participate to different work groups in the domaine of Logistics, B2B and Engineering.
